This course is designed for qualified engineers and technical professionals who use German in their daily work or want to prepare for professional communication in a German-speaking engineering environment.

The focus is not on general German, but on the language you need in real workplace situations: technical meetings, project discussions, explaining processes, describing problems, presenting solutions, writing and understanding technical content, and communicating with colleagues, clients, suppliers and supervisors.

The course is suitable for engineers from different technical fields, including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, production, automotive, energy, construction, technical project management and related engineering areas.

What you will learn

You will expand your technical vocabulary and practise speaking about complex engineering topics clearly, precisely and professionally in German.

Course topics include:

• Technical vocabulary and professional phrases
• Understanding and summarising technical texts
• Explaining processes, functions and workflows
• Describing components, systems, machines, products and technical equipment
• Describing technical problems and suggesting solutions
• Communicating confidently in meetings and project discussions
• Asking precise questions and giving clear answers
• Explaining decisions, risks, delays and technical requirements
• Preparing and giving short technical presentations in German
• Communicating with colleagues, clients, suppliers and supervisors
• Research, development, planning and technical documentation
• Useful phrases for everyday engineering communication
• Improving pronunciation, sentence structure and professional expression

How the course works:

The lessons are practical, communicative and interactive. You work with realistic dialogues, technical examples, professional exercises and typical situations from the engineering workplace.

As this is a mini group course, you have more speaking time, can ask specific questions and can bring in examples from your own professional field.

This course is ideal if you already work as an engineer and want to become more fluent, precise and confident in professional German communication.
