German Courses for Visa Purposes

Use our over 23 years Knowledge and Experience in the visa process.

With over two decades of experience as a German language school, Evolanguage works with international students and professionals from a wide range of countries and backgrounds.
Based on this experience, we are familiar with common language-related requirements, typical timelines and documentation used in visa applications.

We support our participants by providing clear and accurate course documentation, enrollment confirmations and structured information related to our programs. This helps applicants prepare their visa applications in an organized and timely manner.
Please note that Evolanguage does not provide legal or governmental visa services. Visa decisions are made exclusively by the responsible authorities.

German Language Programs for Different Residence Purposes

We offer German language programs for international participants who plan to study, work or complete vocational training (Ausbildung) in Germany.

Our courses may be used as part of a visa application for purposes such as language learning, studies, vocational training or employment, depending on individual requirements and the decision of the competent embassy or immigration authority.

The granting of a visa or residence permit is always subject to official assessment and approval.

Language Course Visas

For individuals focusing on German language acquisition, a language visa or residence permit may be granted for the duration of the language course, typically between 3 and 12 months.
As a general guideline, authorities usually require a minimum of 18 lessons per week. Final requirements may vary depending on the embassy or immigration office.

B2 Language Level

For vocational training (Ausbildung) and many non-academic employment pathways in Germany, a German language level of B2 (CEFR) is commonly required.

C1 Language Level

For university studies and for employment in regulated medical professions such as medicine, pharmacy or dentistry, a higher level of German is generally required.

In these cases, C1 (CEFR) is commonly necessary in order to:
– pass university entrance examinations such as DSH or TestDaF
– meet professional language requirements for recognition procedures

Admission to a German university typically requires proof of German language proficiency at the C1 CEFR level issued by a recognized examination provider.

Preparing for Your Visa Appointment

Before booking a visa appointment, it is strongly recommended to prepare all required documents in full and in original form.
In some cases, appointments are assigned at short notice - sometimes within two weeks - which may leave limited time to complete missing documentation.

To initiate the visa application process, applicants should contact the German embassy or consulate in their home country. Application forms and official document lists are usually available on the websites of the respective diplomatic missions.

Intensive German Programs

Evolanguage offers long-term intensive German programs with 20 lessons per week, designed for structured and continuous language development.

Participation in a language course does not guarantee visa approval, admission to a university or employment. Course enrollment and documentation serve as part of the overall application process and are subject to official evaluation.

Registration and Enrollment Process (Information)

Step 1: Course Registration

To receive official course documentation for visa purposes, registration in one of our PREMIUM Intensive German courses is required.
These programs include 20 lessons per week and are available for durations between 3 and 12 months.

You can view the available course options here:

Step 2: Fees and Payment

Participants are responsible for covering:
• the full course fee
• a one-time administrative fee charged by Evolanguage

German embassies typically require proof that the language course has been fully paid. For this reason, applicants must present both the official enrollment confirmation and the receipt confirming full payment of the course fee as part of their visa application.

The administrative fee covers school-related services, including:
– issuance of the official enrollment confirmation
– preparation of course documentation required for visa applications
– coordination of course dates, if required
– express courier delivery (FedEx) of original documents to your address abroad
This administrative fee does not include embassy or government visa fees, which are paid separately and directly to the responsible authorities.

Step 3: Submission of Personal Details

After payment, please send:
• a copy of your passport
• your full postal address

to: info@evolanguage.de

Step 4: Delivery of Original Documents

Once the full course fees have been received and all required documents are complete, Evolanguage will prepare and dispatch the original enrollment confirmation and the official receipt for the paid course.

These documents are usually sent within approximately one week.

Documents are sent via FedEx Express courier service to your address outside Germany.

Step 5: Health Insurance

For the visa application, valid health insurance coverage is required.
You can register for international health insurance here:

Step 6: Visa Appointment and Required Documents

As soon as all documents are complete, you should schedule a visa appointment at the German embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence.

At the appointment, you are typically required to present all documents in original form, including:
• enrollment confirmation from the language school
• proof of full course fee payment
• health insurance documentation
• proof of financial means (blocked account or declaration of commitment)
• a valid passport
• any additional documents required by the embassy

Proof of Financial Means

For your visa application, you will usually need either:
• a blocked account (Sperrkonto), or
• a Declaration of Commitment (Verpflichtungserklärung) issued by a sponsor in Germany

Common blocked account providers include:
– Fintiba
– Expatrio
– Studely
– Deutsche Bank
– Sparkasse

The choice of provider and the final acceptance of financial proof depend on the embassy or immigration authority.

🆕 Important Update: Work Permission

Holders of a language or student residence permit are generally allowed to work up to 20 hours per week, subject to the conditions stated in their residence permit.

Nationality-Specific Entry Rules (General Information)

Citizens of certain countries, such as the United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Israel, are generally allowed to enter Germany without a visa for a short stay of up to 90 days.

In many cases, nationals of these countries may apply for a German language course residence permit after entering Germany, directly at the responsible immigration office. This depends on individual circumstances and the applicable regulations at the time of application.

Citizens of other countries are usually required to apply for a German language course visa before entering Germany, through the German embassy or consulate in their home country.

Entry and visa regulations may vary depending on nationality and are subject to change. The final assessment and decision are made exclusively by the competent authorities.

Change from Au Pair Visa to Language Course Visa in Germany
Changing from an Au Pair visa to a Language Course visa in Germany is generally possible, provided that all legal requirements are fulfilled and the local immigration authority (Ausländerbehörde) approves the application.
The application must be submitted while the Au Pair residence permit is still valid.
Requirements for the Change:
Enrollment in an intensive German language course (usually at least 18–20 lessons per week)
Proof of sufficient financial means (e.g., blocked account or formal obligation letter)
Valid health insurance coverage
Proof of accommodation in Germany
A clear and plausible reason for continuing the stay (e.g., preparation for studies or vocational training)

Important Notes

• Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all visa requirements are met
• All fees charged by embassies or authorities are independent of the language school
• Requirements may differ depending on nationality and individual circumstances
